Child-Resistant Packaging
Child Resistant Packaging
What we do:
At IBE-BVI we are BELAC-accredited to run panel tests for Child-Resistant Packaging.
The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation ((EC) No 1272/2008) is based on the United Nations’ Globally Harmonised System (GHS) and offers guidance in the determination of the need for a child resistant packaging for a commercial product. We talk mainly about hazardous households products, such as cleaning agents, pesticides and some blisters for pharmaceutical.
Why is it important?
Child-resistant packaging can be divided into two
categories, as also stipulated in the European CLP regulation
1272/2008, namely reclosable and non-reclosable child-resistant packaging. Those are subject to requirements and
test methods which are imposed in standards by the
European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The test of these packaging is essential for the safety of children. This is why at IBE-BVI, thanks also to our accreditation for panel testing, we set the highest standard to assure the safety and the well-being of children.
